Began as the distance learning department of SABC in 2002 today GSOL has evolved to be a full-fledged School of Open Learning providing different levels of theological training in print, blended and eLearning modes.
We endeavour to maintain high academic standards and a well rounded curriculum preparing you for God’s call upon your life. Our Programmes
All the programmes offered by GSOL are accredited by the Asia Theological Association and are committed to the same highest standard of education that is provided thorough any regular programme of study at a highly affordable and flexible options. The courses can be completed either through distance learning (print) mode or eLearning mode or through a blended learning approach.

Master of Divinity
The Master of Divinity (M.Div.) is a 96 credit hour post-graduate programme, offered in a modular format. Each module consists of 2 courses. There are a total of 15 core modules and 2 elective modules. The programme may be completed in 3 – 7 years.
This programme is recommended for pastors, teachers and other elders of the church who are actively involved in preaching and teaching and pastoral care ministries.
This course is available to take in the traditional Distance Learning/Print Mode, eLearning mode or a combination of both.
Entry Requirements:
Candidates interested in applying to study M.Div. programme must have:
- Completed 21 years of age at the time of application
- Have a definite Christian experience and call for Christian service
- Be actively involved in Christian ministry for a minimum of three years.
- Successfully completed a Bachelors Degree (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com. or equivalent) in any discipline, from a recognised university
- A reasonable proficiency in English language
Special Provisions
M.Div. Upgrade:
Those who have completed a Bachelor of Theology from an ATA accredited institution with a minimum grade of B may apply for M.Div. Upgrade (2 years).
Mature Candidates:
Candidates, without a Bachelors Degree may apply as mature candidates. They will need to fulfil the following criteria to be accepted into the programme. The candidate must
- have completed class 10 and P.U.C.
- be 30 years of age at the time of application
- have a definite Christian experience and call for Christian service
- have reasonable proficiency in English language
- pass the Mature Candidate Qualifying Examination.

Master of Arts in Christian Studies
The Master of Arts in Christian Studies (M.A.C.S.) is a 64-credit hour post-graduate programme, offered in a modular format. Each module consists of 2 courses. There are a total of 10 core modules and 2 elective modules. The programme may be completed in 2 – 5 years.
This programme is recommended for pastors, teachers and other elders of the church who are actively involved in preaching and teaching and pastoral care ministries. This course is available to take in the traditional Distance Learning/Print Mode, eLearning mode or a combination of both.

Course Curriculum
Bachelor of Theology
Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) is a 15-module program. Each module consists of two courses that can be completed in two to three months.
Programme Structure
The programme is divided into three levels of 5 modules each:
- The Foundational Level
- The Intermediate Level
- The Advanced Level
Each level is designed with a practical approach to ministry wherein the student is able to readily put into practice the knowledge they acquire as they progress through the courses.
Admission Requirements
General Requirements
- A definite Christian experience
- A desire and willingmess to be prepared for effective Christian service
- A fair knowledge of the English language
Academic Requirements
- Completion of a pre-university course (10+2) or its equivalent from a recognised university or institution
- Those who have completed an accredited Diploma in Theology programme are also eligible to apply.

Diploma in Theology
Diploma in Theology (Dip. Th.) is a 13-module (72 Credit Hour) programme with each module that consists of two courses that may be completed in two to three months. Those completing the Diploma in Theology are qualified to join the Bachelor of Theology.
