Master of Arts
The Master of Arts in Christian Studies (M.A.C.S) is a 2-year post-graduate degree to prepare students for the ministry of the church with a specialisation in areas such as pastoral care, teaching, children/youth ministries, counselling, and developmental work.
- The degree provides knowledge in Bible, Theology, Historical and Religious studies, Ministry and Missions.
- Students will be able to collaborate and work in ministry teams to offer collegial support.
- M.A. is also foundational for further studies in the areas of specialisation.
- The M.A. degree requires a minimum of 64 credit hours (54 core and 10 elective) which may be completed in a minimum of two years.
Admission Requirements
Candidates for the Master of Arts Degree must qualify under one of the following categories:
- Be a graduate of a recognized university.
- While students who have successfully completed their degrees are preferred, students who are in the final year of studies or awaiting results may also apply. Such candidates may be given provisional admission and will have to produce the mark sheets for all the previous years of study. They should produce proof of successful completion before the end of the first semester.
- Candidates with a theological degree from a non-accredited college may be considered for admission. They are required to pass a qualifying/placement examination.
- Mature Candidates: Candidates who do not have the necessary academic requirements but are above 30 years of age are eligible to apply as mature candidates. They will be required to pass an entrance examination. When admitted, such candidates will be on academic probation during the first year of Study.
